Public Transit Directions
Here are detailed directions to the LightHouse in San Francisco using public transit.
From Marin
- Take Golden Gate Transit into San Francisco. The bus will let you off on Golden Gate Avenue and Polk Street on the southeast corner.
- Walk south on Polk Street
- Cross McAllister Street
- Cross Grove Street and turn right
- Cross Polk Street
- Walk to Van Ness Avenue and turn left
- Cross Lech Walesa Alley. The LightHouse is first entrance on left.
From Civic Center BART/MUNI station
- Walk west on the platform
- Take escalator up to concourse level
- Locate northwest exit which leads to Civic Center/Grove St.
- At top of escalator you will be facing Grove St. with Burger King at left.
- Walk west on Grove Street
- Cross Larkin Street
- Cross Polk Street
- Walk to Van Ness Avenue and turn left
- Cross Lech Walesa Alley. The LightHouse is first entrance on left.
From MUNI underground Van Ness station
- Take J, K, L, M or N to the Van Ness Station
- Exit platform to concourse level via stairs, elevator or escalator
- On concourse level, take stairs up to Northeast corner of Van Ness and Market
- Walk north on Van Ness
- Cross Fell Street
- Cross Hayes Street
- The LightHouse is in the middle of the block on the right
From MUNI Buses
Northbound Van Ness Avenue buses: Numbers 47 and 49
- Get off at Grove Street.
- You will be on the East side of Van Ness, North of Grove, in front of City Hall.
- Upon exiting bus, turn right and walk south to Grove St.
- Cross Grove Street
- Cross Lech Walesa Alley.
- The LightHouse is the first entrance on the left.
Southbound Van Ness Avenue buses: Numbers 47 and 49
- Get off at Grove St..You will be on the West side of Van Ness Avenue, just South of Grove St. and in front of davies Symphony Hall.
- Upon exiting bus, turn right and walk north to Grove St.
- Turn right to cross Van Ness
- Turn right, cross Lech Walesa Alley.
- The LightHouse is the first entrance on the left.
