Changes Ahead for Marin LightHouse and Adaptations Store

Adaptations, the LightHouse Store, and our Vision Rehabilitation Specialists have enjoyed providing services from our vibrant Fourth Street location in San Rafael for eight years. With the wind of change in the economy, we are now looking for a new accessible home in San Rafael to continue our training services and support groups.
We will continue training services from our current location until a new location is found, but please note: the Adaptations Store in Marin will close its doors Wednesday, September 24th. However, Adaptations will be going mobile! Starting October 1, Laura Peters will be taking her knowledge of products for persons with vision loss and some of the top store products on the road. By appointment, she will provide services throughout Marin County and the greater Bay Area to reach out to communities that are unable to come to our San Francisco store.
The Adaptations staff wants to thank all of our regulars and newcomers for coming to the Marin store to check out new products, and for providing us with updates on your successes, challenges and discoveries in using the items. Much of your feedback helped to shape the product inventory we sell.
Adaptations in Marin will have a moving sale of selected items beginning September 1 and continuing through September 25. If you live in a community that might welcome a visit from our mobile store, contact Laura Peters at 415-258-8496.
Again, please note that our Vision Rehabilitation Specialists and Social Worker will continue to be in Marin to provide services, and we will keep you apprised of our pending move. Additionally, note that the LightHouse's goal in looking for a new space also aims to accommodate our collaborators, Blind and Vision Impaired of Marin and Blind Babies Foundation.
