405 Campers Served in 2009
Each summer, Enchanted Hills Camp (EHC), a program of the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, provides youth, adults and seniors with vision loss a fully accessible summer camp experience. For families, EHC enhances their support network and allows them to learn from each other. For adult and senior campers, EHC is the event they look forward to with anticipation all year. EHC plays such an important role in participants’ lives not just because of the stellar staff, wide range of accessible activities and opportunity to learn new things, but also because EHC is a place where people who are blind or visually impaired can be defined by their individual personalities and character and not by their disability. The friendships formed and skills learned at EHC often last a lifetime.
