New to Vision Loss?

If you or someone you know is experiencing vision loss, don’t lose sight of available options.

People often equate losing vision with the end of the road. Here at the LightHouse, we don’t see it that way! Armed with resources, support from staff and peers, training and a positive attitude, people with vision loss succeed in school, in the workplace and at home.

We cannot restore the vision you have lost, but we will enable you to cope with that loss. We can provide a specialized eye exam by a low vision doctor to evaluate and maximize your existing vision. For those with no vision, we can equip you with techniques to maintain an independent lifestyle.

Our staff can teach you how to travel on your own, cook safely, take care of your home, continue working, use a computer — and anything else you thought was impossible. The LightHouse offers information, training and support that ensure you’ll develop the skills and strategies needed to accomplish whatever goals you set for yourself — in all stages of life — regardless of your vision level.
